What Do You Have in Common With Joseph Stalin?

I've been teaching my students about autocratic governments the last couple of weeks. Later in the year I'll be going over cats like Joseph Stalin. Here is a link to a online survey I have my students take to get an idea of how their views stack up against totalitarian dictators. Go ahead and take it. We can compare results later. Really, it is kind of fun at the end.

P.S. If you want to check out the website I have set up for students and parents click here.

I love my job. Peace and good health to all.

Here's how I ranked - political compass
Economic Left/Right: -0.25 (close to dead center)
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.56 (slightly more towards anarchism than fascism)

So what does it mean? Your politically clueless reader

KMJ, thanks for playing along. Your score proably means that you have a little more in common with Ganhdi socially than I do. As far as your economic views, you are a perfect balance apparently.

As for myself. I scored Econ Left/Right:-6.00 and Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 2.80. Which means I lean to the Socialist left economically and favor authoritarianism politically. Troublesome, but all in good fun.

Ok, here's where I stand:

Economic Left/Right: -2.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.13

I don't know what that makes me but I do know that some of the lefties listed in the suggested reading make my skin crawl (i.e., Al Franken is a total idiot!)

Interesting...
4 squares west and 1 square south of Centerville, same basic geography as KMJ and Mr. Sulfide.

Yeah, not really sensing any Pol Pots or Hitlers among us.

Okay,

look this was a hard test! Some of these questions...I was unable to take a middle ground. And perhaps I've listened to too much rage against the machine. But here are my scores:

Economic Left/Right: -5.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.74

Somewhere around Ghandi, Mandelia, the Dalai Lama. I think it's my distrust of authority...but like most of us, I really don't know what this means either. But I dig this site! And this test. I will read more at their page.
